We planned on doing weekly updates but time has beaten us with our second entry.
We have recently answered some question from MTVACT as they will be posting a story on the great work of all involved with the MonsterHotLine Project, it would be great if we could spread this story as much as possible as all the good things that Little Monsters do has been pushed aside by some negative events recently.
We have also added some items on our webstore that will be available very soon, these include button badges and glow in the dark silicon bands. The money raised off these items will be going straight back into the running of MonsterHotLine and any excess money we will be donating to the Born This Way Foundation. We have being busily coming up with designs with the input and help of Little Monsters on twitter. If you have any other suggestions feel free to email them to us so we can take them on board and get you involved in the design process.
We have also set a closing date for the project "Letters for Gaga" we will NOT be taking any submissions from the 31st of March, so if you haven't yet please submit your letter as soon as possible. As we have to order each letter to be printed and also come up with a design for the cover. We will be asking for designs for the cover soon, so keep an eye out for any information.
With Sara now back at College full time, we could really use some help running our twitter account as we aim to be on twitter 24/7. If you feel you would be great for this role please email us or send us a tweet.
We are going to end this weeks entry, but we promise to be back next week.
Paws Up, Little
We thought it would be a nice to share with you each week, some of what we do behind the scenes of MonsterHotLine.
Firstly lets take you back to the very beginning when MonsterHotLine had just began in Mid October 2011, the idea was very basic, we wanted to create a place where people could go and talk about things when they had no one else to turn to. We believed at the time that this was one of the biggest problems people seemed to be having was finding someone who was willing to listen without offering any judgement.
After the first week of creating the twitter account, did we become full aware of how many people were facing this problem and coming to us for someone to talk to. The first month was a big juggling act, with the two of us running the twitter account in 12 hour blocks whilst one of us had university and the other a full time job, but we made it work and it was the support of everyone who we came in contact with over twitter that spurred us on more to continue to help others. So we have continued to grow and join other social networks including Facebook (Monster-HotLine-Project), Tumblr (http://monsterhotline.tumblr.com/) and our latest Google+ (https://plus.google.com/111603409799483091087/).
Back to this week:
This week has been very busy, we have been trying our best to support the project one of our fellow Little Monsters is involved in a film project about the issue of "Human Trafficking" we feeling very strongly about supporting other Little Monsters, as they have support the MonsterHotLine Project from the very beginning and are always there when we call on them to help us out. Through this film project we are helping to support, we have caught the attention of MTV ACT who have said they may be interested in writing an article about the good we are trying to achieve through the MonsterHotLine Project. This would allow us to reach so many more people which is what we aim to do and it would allow us to show people that even though the use of social networking sites can sometimes have a negative impact on people especially the youth, it can also be used to provide a supportive environment where people are nurtured and supported.
The two of us who have been with MonsterHotLine from the very beginning talk on a daily basis, this week we have been discussing about getting 5 LittleHelpers each week to write about why they wanted to become involved in this project. We have learnt that each person has their own reasons for wanting to help others, but at the end of the day it is about giving up their own time in the hope of making someone else's life a little brighter. Another thing we have been discussing is the idea of getting a few banners made for you LittleMonsters to take to Lady Gaga's concerts around the world to help let other LittleMonsters know that there is a support network we have created just for them. What do you think? We have also been asked about getting magnets, little badges, and other merchandise things that we can send you. We have taken this suggestion on board and are currently trying to get companies from our local area to donate the materials to get them made. We do not want to make a profit from this and the only cost could possibly be shipping but we also want to try and get this covered.
I would also like to take this time to give you an update on the Letters For Gaga Project. It is well under way with letters and drawings coming in on a daily basis to fill the book. We would love many more, so if you still have not submitted anything yet, please get on board and help us create a one off book for Mother Monster. Soon we will be asking for entries and ideas for the front cover.
I'm going to come to an end now for this week, but please feel free to contact us at (monster email@example.com) if you have any questions, suggestions or have someone who may be able to help with anything that has been discussed above. We love hearing all your ideas and getting your feedback.
Until next week "Keep your paws up."
